Could a U.S.-Cuba prisoner swap break the ice?

Alan Gross, a U.S. government subcontractor imprisoned in Cuba for smuggling satellite equipment onto the island, is being held at Havana's Carlos J. Finlay Military Hospital. With peeling canary-yellow walls and hordes of people coming and going, the aging building doesn't look like a place where Cuba would hold its most valuable prisoner.  But police officers and soldiers surround the hospital. Inside, Cuban special forces guard the 65-year-old U.S. citizen, emotionally and physically frail and approaching his fifth year in solitary confinement. North of the Florida Straits, Gross' imprisonment is seen as the major impediment to better relations with Havana.

Why Watching News is Good!!!!!!

We have learned that by keeping up with news that's going around the world right now,we can be prepared for anything that happens. If there's an epidemic spreading, then we have to be prepared for it. We do not live in a bubble of protection. We need to help and "estar listo"(be ready)  for everything that pops up around our Earth. If we did not pay attention to the news our bubble would be popped without us knowing. For example if Toyota called a recall on all Hilux because of bad breaks and you didn't know what do you think would happen? BOOM! Car wreck!

What have  You learned regarding with  the importante of keeping up with the current events?

We've learned that we might know what could happen in the future. Also it helps us to prevent because it tells us before a disaster happens. It is important to keep up with current events because we can have  a family member that is in a different country and we need to know what could happen to those places.  We could expand our wisdom. Also we can gain knowledge.

It's important for us to know about the past to perfect the future. Current events will eventually be history and knowing about them will help us understand more. We can always use the knowledge we have then and now to help the future.  If we watch the current news we will know how to act or even vote for who is right.  We can also learn from the geniuses now to help our own future.

It helps us create cures for diseases. We can be informed and that is good, we wouldn't be ignorants or like hermits.

The faces of Syria's rebel fighters are getting younger

Islamic State crisis: The 13-year-old on 'righteous path'

Can you imagine how horrible it is that the faces of the people fighting in the war are getting younger?  Imagine people your age or your child's age, these islamic people are building a new future army.  Teaching them how to fight, shoot guns, and hate infidels.

-Do you agree with these Islamic states?  Why or why not?

What's the skin spray made of?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Healthpoint's spray, currently sporting the decidedly un-mellifluous name HP802-247, is made of donated skin cells (keratinocytes) and an anti-clotting agent (fibroblasts). The two substances are believed to work together to speed up healing and stimulate the body's production of new skin to cover the wound. The standard treatment for leg ulcers is a compression bandage, which heals up to 75 percent of the lesions within six months.

Spray on bandages

In the year 2014 there was a new big break in medical products. It was called the spray on bandage. Do you remember bandages were sticky and it was teeth gritting when you had to rip them off. Well this invention made it possible to forget that. Created in South Korea and Germany, it helped the doctors keep track of the wounds and know the healing process of the cut.

When wounds heal they need extra glucose and oxygen. Without these compounds it would leave behind painful sores. Thankfully they created a spray on bandage to monitor the healing. It still allowed the compounds to get in.  This bandage was created before 2014, but it was to expensive so it could not be finished. Eventually it was finished and it has been a huge improvement to humanity.

How does this invention improve our lives, and keep us healthy? - Will McGrew

What is the reason of making this spray on bandage and why do we need it??-Iris

Medical Improvements

Back in 2014 scientists discovered  how to protect injuries in a safer and more efficient way. Unlike ancient times were bandages would rip your skin when taking them off these new and improved spray on bandages tried in less than a minute. Conor L. Evans was the cause of excitement with this new invention! He was a Harvard Medical School Assistant Professor.

With this spray on bandage came the use of cameras and smartphones(a rectangular object in which you had to touch to make it function) with flash to take a picture of the wound. This light from the flash caused the molecules to react with the oxygen levels. The wound would emit light. If the wound showed up with a red color warns the doctor there's a problem. If its was blue it showed the doctor that everything was going great.

Now these bandages have been improved to tell us pH levels, bacterial load and other important data points needed to monitor serious injuries.

ISIS

ISIS                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            President Obama declared a new war on terrorism against ISIS. Similar to many other countries in the area, Siria was experiencing "Arab Spring"-a series of revolutions that began in north africa.
Though the group was radical, they did not garner much attention until April 2013. When the islamic state of Iraq decided to join forces with Jabhat-Al Nurse they formed a new organization that he called the Islamic state of Iraq and Al-Sham.
No matter what they are called, the one thing that was becoming apparant is that they had expanded its control fast. ISIS had been grabing headlines with the public beheadings of journalists. The only way to defeat them is by developing ground troops.
